About Mount Elgon
Mount Elgon straddles Kenya and Uganda and is one of the world's largest intact calderas. Beyond the moorlands and otherworldly giant lobelias, Elgon is famous for Kitum Cave — where elephants tusk through the rock at night to mine sodium. The mountain sees a tiny fraction of Mount Kenya's traffic, so expect quiet trails and a real wilderness feel.
