About Mount Suswa
Suswa is Longonot's wilder, lesser-known cousin. It has an outer rim, an inner crater, and a forested 'island' inside the inner crater that you can stand on top of. Underneath all that, an extensive lava tube cave system once sheltered Mau Mau fighters and still houses bats and the occasional honey badger. We camp inside the outer rim, eat dinner around the fire with our Maasai community partners, and explore caves with headlamps after dark.
